hackaton tasks confusion
in /h22, all the @#$% tasks are so @#$% vague. “built a defi”?? “build the best decentralized smart contract” what?? for what?? flash loans? borrowing? staking? swapping? people don’t wanna spend time on vague things that may result in a deny. very cool idea but bed execution

I would imagine that it is vague so as not to limit a developers potential. Build what you want, connect with the sponsors directly to see how your idea fits, or can expand into these challenges. They literally held two gather.town meetups yesterday for these types of questions. Their discord is wide open for asking each sponsor more about their challenges. They all have their own channel and some already post updates clarifying things. I had someone from Calaxy break down the defi primitive challenge for me in the gather town because I misunderstood it. Maybe someone overheard and understand more now, too. Having conversations and asking questions in public forums can help other builders as well.

Hi Omega, everything that Chad said is spot on (thanks for that response Chad). The challenges are a bit more open ended to give you more creative freedom and not limit the potential on what you build. If you ever have questions and or want advice on your idea and if it is something the sponsors are looking for, there is a room in our discord (hedera.com/discord) for each challenge where you can interact with the sponsors directly and ask them questions. Many of them are available to do 1:1 mentorship calls with you as well, you just need to ask and they will be there to help. If you are not getting responses from them, you can reach out to me and I'll be sure someone from their team is there to assist you. Hedera mentors are in discord all the time and will be hosting various office hours and more AMAs and can provide 1:1 mentorship as well if needed.
